Privacy notice, data protection & confidentiality:
Personal data is collected from clients to support administration and provision of a therapy service.
This information may include the following:
- Contact details
- Date of birth, occupation, relevant medical history/medication, family details
- Record of dates attended, sessions cancelled etc.
- Brief overview of session content
These records are stored securely, no information regarding content of sessions is stored on a computer.
Client information recorded will not be used for any purpose other than that outlined above. It will not be shared with any other agencies, without the client’s prior agreement, unless required by law as detailed in the confidentiality statement (see below).
Records will be kept for 3 years following the end of the counselling/therapy process and then destroyed.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information held. You also have the right to require me to correct any inaccuracies in your information.
You may withdraw your consent for me to hold and process your data at any time. However, if you do this while actively receiving therapy, your therapy would have to end.

I treat all information disclosed as confidential. The only circumstances any information will be shared with a 3rd party are as follows:
- If I believe there is an immediate risk of substantial harm to self or others
- Under a legal requirement (eg: terrorism, money laundering or via court order for disclosure)
In the above circumstances, the ethical and/or legal grounds for sharing of information will be discussed first with the client if at all possible.
