Mindfulness for Wellbeing – Eight week Course
What is it?
This course is designed to introduce you to the practice of mindfulness and aims to help you develop practical skills for managing stress and dealing with day to day life challenges. Research has shown that regular practice of mindfulness can enhance both physical and emotional wellbeing.
The programme is based upon Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) developed by Jon Kabat Zinn and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) developed by Segal, Williams & Teasdale. These mindfulness based approaches combine the ancient practice of meditation with current research and understanding in the fields of Psychology and Neuroscience.
Who is it for?
Mindfulness training can benefit anyone who is interested in exploring a mind-body approach that can help in developing skills for working with the stress and anxiety that often accompany life’s ups and downs.
What does it involve?
The Mindfulness for Wellbeing programme is taught over 8 weekly 2 hour sessions and one practice day.
What does it cost?
The fee for the course is £150; this includes all sessions, the practice day and course guide . Low income concessions may be available, please inquire.
About the facilitator:
Sharon Kirby is a BACP Snr. Accredited Counsellor and UKCP registered Psychotherapist
She has trained in Mindfulness Based Approaches with Enter Mindfulness and Bangor University and continues to actively develop her personal and professional mindfulness interest and practice.
Sharon follows the good practice guidelines established by the UK Mindfulness Trainers’ Network
